Children's Choir

Our children's choir is led by Laurie Orth.

The children's choir sings at the 9:00 am Mass on the last Sunday of each month, and for certain feasts, holy days, and parish celebrations such as Christmas Eve.

Practice sessions are scheduled to best accommodate the group's busy schedule... see the Studio area below for our current schedule of practice.  All singing children are welcome... no prior experience is required!

Do You Hear What I Hear?

From 4:00 pm Children's Christmas Mass
December 24, 2010

Friday, December 24, 2010 at the 4:00 pm Children's Christmas Mass the children led the congregation in song.  The congregation still marvels at their talent!  Click on the video to hear the children sing their anthem, "Do You Hear What I Hear?" from that Mass.

With only a small amount of time each week where we practice together, we rely on the children to spend time practicing on their own.  Their dedication to practicing on their own is invaluable!  Thank you to the parents who are encouraging and supporting this extra effort!

We are currently practicing for our Easter season!

  • Saturday April 9, 2011: practice 5-6pm in School Music Room.

Our Patroness

Our children's choir is under the protection of our Blessed Mother.  We can look out on her little garden from our practice room.  She reminds our instructors, parents, and other grown-up helpers to be patient with us and encourage us to learn.  She reminds us that when we sing, we are giving glory to her son, Jesus, and we are helping others to give Him glory too.

My soul magnifies the Lord, and my spirit rejoices in God my Savior, for he has regarded the low estate of his handmaiden. For behold, henceforth all generations will call me blessed; for he who is mighty has done great things for me, and holy is his name. And his mercy is on those who fear him from generation to generation. He has shown strength with his arm, he has scattered the proud in the imagination of their hearts, he has put down the mighty from their thrones, and exalted those of low degree; he has filled the hungry with good things, and the rich he has sent empty away. He has helped his servant Israel, in remembrance of his mercy, as he spoke to our fathers, to Abraham and to his posterity for ever. (Luke 1:46-55)
